Sorry, but what’s Layla Boe supposed to do? She was born the “baddest bitch”: Layla Boe, also known as LAYLA, doesn’t mince words—not on social media, and certainly not in her bars. Is this rap, pop, electronic music, or R&B? Why not all at once? That seems to be the premise of this musician, who grew up in Münster and now lives in Berlin. With lyrics about self-determination, sex, love, desire, and empowerment, she’s carved out her own niche in the German rap scene—while at the same time effortlessly bridging the gap to pop with features like the one on Nina Chuba’s “Rage Girl.” Following her 2021 debut on *Pop-Kultur*, she’s returning in 2026 with new material and fresh sounds, ready to show us what self-assured female German rap looks like today.
