In the Kompakt Record Store of the legendary Cologne label for electronic music, ADKDW invites you once a month to a joint listening session: alternating between music and conversation, a guest presents selected songs, song fragments or instrumentals and classifies them from a personal, music-historical and/or political perspective.
Maus expresses unmistakably in all his motifs that at the center of this experience is always the possibility of death and thus also our fear of death. His drawings are uncanny, above all because there is not a hint of colorful cheerfulness in them. Reduced to the power of countless concise graphite strokes, the black and white contrast of these pictures is as merciless as death and our fear of death. There are neither distractions nor evasions, just a multitude of gray nuances. Maus inimitably stages his motifs with many short and long pencil strokes. Extremely delicate, like a weave. Sometimes he presses the pencil down very gently so that the line appears soft, other times he presses down harder so that the multiple interrupted line structure is deeply imprinted into the paper. Each picture is a multi-part graphic structure from which the human figures emerge just as succinctly as they are trapped within it. (Jürgen Kisters)
The Learning to Listen series
In radio broadcasts, podcasts and live events, Learning toListen deals with forms of listening and non-listening - and the knowledge that can be gained from them. The central aim of Learning to Listen is to understand why certain sounds, songs and narratives are heard and others are not. Together we want to deal with internalized ways of thinking and learn to listen and unlearn.

Unmistakenly, Andreas Maus expresses that at the center of all his motives, the possibility of death and thus our fear of death is lingering. Extremely delicate, like in the process of weaving.
Learning to Listen Series
In radio broadcasts, podcasts and live events, Learning to Listen deals with forms of listening and non-listening - and the knowledge that can be drawn from them. The main aim of Learning to Listen is to initiate didactic processes intended to help us understand why certain sounds, songs, and narratives are heard and others are not. Together we will reflect on our internalized ways of thinking, of learning to listen and to un-learn.
