LELÉKA feat. Maksym Berezhnyuk: Rizdvo: Ukrainische Weihnachtsmusik

Together with guest musician Maksym Berezhnyuk, a famous Ukrainian virtuoso and collector of various traditional wind instruments, the award-winning band LELÉKA presents a special concert program of Ukrainian Christmas music in December, where songs and instruments largely unknown in this country can be experienced.

LELÉKA is a young, multicultural Berlin quartet around the Ukrainian singer Viktoria, whose voice determines the character and atmosphere of the music of this band. The band's sound world, ranging from dynamic grooving passages to tender folk ballad tones, finds a fitting framework in a contemporary jazz language, which the quartet has developed into a diversified concept.

Maksym Berezhnyuk was born in 1986 in Rivne (Ukraine) and is a graduate of the local Music Academy as well as the Kyiv University of Culture and Arts in the subjects of traditional wind instruments and folk singing. He is known as a co-founder of the bands "The Doox", "Kyiv Ethno trio" and "Balamuty", for his diverse collaborations with Ukrainian artists and musicians, as well as his soundtracks with folk wind instruments for feature films and documentaries.
