LeseWelten Spendenlauf 2024

Dear people of Cologne,
dear LeseWelten friends,

It's that time again: The 13th LeseWelten charity run is coming up, and we cordially invite you to join us on April 21, 2024 to "do good by running".

📅 Date: April 21, 2024
📍 Location: Cologne city forest | Friedrich-Schmidt-Str./corner of Kitschburger Str.

This year, there are two special features to mark the 20th anniversary of our read-aloud initiative: a children's run followed by a read-aloud and professional timekeeping for the main run.

➡️ Children's run: The little LeseWelten fans can decide for themselves how many laps (1 lap = 650 m) they can complete. The entry fee is 3 euros per child, and afterwards the little participants can look forward to a special reading activity in the reading tent with our reading monster Liesbert.

➡️ Main run: For the first time this year, there will be professional timekeeping! This race is also free to choose the running distance: 3.4 km (1 lap) | 6.7 km (2 laps) | 10 km (3 laps). The main run is suitable for all age groups, the entry fee is 10 euros per person. Children up to the age of 12 pay a reduced entry fee of 5 euros and are cordially invited to the reading tent after the run.

🕒 Schedule and route information:
- From 09:30 - Arrival and distribution of start numbers
- 10:10 am - Joint warm-up
- 10:30 a.m. - Start of children's run and subsequent reading activity
- 10:45 a.m. - Start of the main run

So that we can continue to regularly read to children in Cologne for the next 20 years and beyond, we kindly ask you to be there and take part. Look for kilometer sponsors who will support every kilometer you run with a monetary donation to LeseWelten.

Our read-aloud ambassador and TV presenter Andre Gatzke will of course be at the start again together with mascot Liesbert.
