Solidarity, empathy and long-term solutions instead of defence and isolation - anyone who feels the need to think about migration in a different way than the current political discourse is cordially invited to the reading organized by Seebrücke Köln.

On 21.11.2024 at 8 pm, Olaf Bernau will read from his book "Brennpunkt Westafrika - die Fluchtursachen und was Europa tun sollte" at the Maternus bookstore in Südstadt. The author is a member of the transnational network Afrique-Europe-Interact and reports from his own experience on why people in West Africa decide to migrate and what the crisis in this region has to do with Europe. The term 'circular migration' sheds light on how migration between the two continents could also be conceived differently.

There will be a second reading on 22.11. with the author Imad Al Suliman about flight from crisis areas such as Syria.
