150 years of Thomas Mann
Benrath Palace has been a literary motif on several occasions. To mark the 150th birthday of Thomas Mann, who visited Benrath Castle in 1954, four works and their connections to the castle will be honored: Effi Briest by Theodor Fontane, Die vom Niederrhein by Rudolf Herzog, Der Wandelstern by Emil Barth and Die Betrogene by Thomas Mann. Experts will introduce the works and read selected passages.
