In the organizer's words:
Buddy Tobias has always loved to write. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he began experimenting with poetry for the first time. In 2023, he started performing his poems on small-venue stages. Gradually, he wrote more and more poems, and the range of topics expanded as well; eventually, this led to the creation of the show
"Sex & Drugs & HIV" is a cabaret show addressing the topics of HIV, queer identity, and substance use, featuring texts that are partly in verse. Some texts get under your skin and make you think, while others make you laugh. What all the pieces have in common is their aim to inspire courage. Musical segments round out the program.
