Lesung trifft Impro – wortgewandt im Wortgewand

"Lesung trifft Impro" is an extraordinary mix of prima vista reading and improvisational art - always new, irretrievable and eloquent in the best sense of the word! On Friday, June 19, 2026, at 8 pm, the artist duo Dirk Lausch and Thomas Jäkel will finally bring this popular entertainment format back to Braunschweig: reading meets improv at Das KULT.

Voice actor and actor Dirk Lausch will read out anything the audience brings with them: the receipt or the self-written love poem, the doctoral thesis in astrophysics, the telephone book or the Virginia Woolf novel. Improv actor and impromptu poet Thomas Jäkel then creates his very own rhyme for what he has heard: he rewrites, writes his own poetry, spins the text further and leads the audience into a different setting and a new story.

Unrehearsed and entirely presented, "Lesung trifft Impro" improvises a uniquely spontaneous form of storytelling in which each performance produces new and unique texts. Bring your own texts!
