„Let’s talk about Discrimination“ // Ausstellung von Özlem Öztürk

In the organizer's words:

Show your face! Educator and amateur photographer Özlem Öztürk photographed people who had experienced discrimination in 2023 while they told their stories. The basis: trust. The photo exhibition shows portraits of people who make their grievances public. A glimpse into wounded souls: "The pictures were taken in very emotional moments when these people confided their stories to me."

They came forward following a call from the photographer on her Insta page to "show their faces". The desperation in the expression of a young man from Guinea tells of racist insults and a traumatic escape. Another portrait shows a non-binary person who is subjected to hostile, aggressive behavior. A homeless man experiences repeated harassment, an elderly woman was not allowed to wear a mask during the pandemic because of a lung disease - and was insulted and spat at by strangers.

Just a few examples from this series of 24 portraits.
