LICHT – eine künstlerische Annäherung

LIGHT is our elixir of life - without light there would be no life, no energy, no warmth! Light makes us cheerful, makes us smile, and - light makes us recognize colors!

The artists of the Atelier Köln Süd and two guest artists from Berlin have given themselves over to the rush of colors.

At the group exhibition LIGHT, from December 02, 2023 to January 06, 2024, they present their contemporary works in the Cologne community center STOLLWERCK:

The exhibition, sponsored by the City of Cologne, invites visitors to engage with different facets and interpretations of light. It is a tribute to the subtle ways in which light can evoke emotions, tell stories, and influence moods. Overall, the works vary not only in presentation, but also in styles and motifs - from soft reflections of light to dramatic contrasts.

The works are presented on five light-flooded levels of the Stollwerck, providing an opportunity to experience art in a very special way. Each light work creates a dynamic and vibrant art experience. Visitors can look forward to a variety of styles, techniques and creative genres.

With ten percent of the proceeds from all sold artworks, the exhibitors* support the regionally known "Aktion Lichtblicke". The campaign focuses in particular on children from families in need in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The opening of the exhibition "Light" will take place on 02 December 2023 at 6 pm in the Cologne community center STOLLWERCK (Dreikönigenstraße 23, 50678 Cologne). Subsequently, the exhibition can be visited until 06 January 2024 during the opening hours of the Stollwerck.

Admission is free of charge.

Sneakpeak of the exhibition at Atelier Köln Süd

More than half of the exhibiting artists are members of Atelier Köln Süd. An essential part of the co-working space is the presentation of art, which is why a sneak preview of the works in the "Light" exhibition will be on view a week before, from November 25-30, at Atelier Köln Süd (Luxemburger Straße 295, 50939 Cologne). The Sneakpeak exhibition will be open on November 25 and 26 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and can be visited on request on the other days.
