"Liebste Fenchel..." mit Lirica Aeterna
In the organizer's words:
An extraordinary chamber music concert presented by Lirica Aeterna with music by Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn
"Dearest Fennel" - that's what Felix Mendelssohn called his sister Fanny in his letters. Behind this affectionate nickname lies a special sibling relationship, which the Ensemble Lirica Aeterna brings to life in a lively concert format.
The program for soprano, string quartet and narrator combines music and words to create a narrative concert with scenic moments. Soprano Elif Aytekin slips into the role of Fanny Hensel and performs songs by both siblings from a personal perspective. Letters are not only read, but made audible as dialogic voices.
The focus is on Fanny Hensel's string quartet and songs by both siblings. Aribert Reimann's "...oder soll es Tod bedeuten?" sets a special accent. In it, Reimann combines eight songs by Felix Mendelssohn and a fragment by the Romantic composer based on poems by Heinrich Heine for soprano and string quartet. Six intermezzi create a continuous musical arc and bring a contemporary sound perspective to Mendelssohn's romantic song world.
