Since the 1990s, Thomas Huber and his brother Alexander have been among the most successful mountaineers in the world. As the Huberbuam, they are famous for their first ascents and achievements in speed climbing, among other things. In his new lecture, Thomas looks back on his life so far, from his first steps at the foot of the Alps, to the granite walls of Yosemite National Park and peaks in the cold of the Arctic and Antarctica, to the vertical walls of stormy Patagonia and seven-thousand-meter peaks of the Karakorum and Himalayas. Thomas celebrates great successes in first ascents and spectacular expeditions, but also suffers disappointing defeats, serious accidents and the tragic loss of friends. He talks openly as never before about his doubts and how he manages to turn failure into a virtue. A wild, rocking journey hard on the abyss, marked by ups and downs, failure and success, courage and doubt as well as sadness and happiness - and a hymn to freedom!
