He is a drummer who creates space, crafting finely nuanced soundscapes for his fellow musicians while skillfully guiding the music with elegant subtlety: Nathan Ott is by no means an unknown figure in the European jazz scene. In his current quartet, he joins forces with a key figure in European jazz: Christof Lauer—for decades a defining voice of the NDR Big Band, a sought-after soloist, and a formidable sound explorer—embodies an expression that transcends all stylistic boundaries. In this lineup, he enters into an intense musical dialogue with a new generation of improvisational musicians: Argentine saxophonist Camila Nebbia and Danish bassist Jonas Westergaard—both distinctive voices who are playing a decisive role in shaping the current jazz scene.

Together, they perform a tightly coordinated, atmospherically dense, contemporary music capable of reaching any dynamic peak without ever losing its grounding—a highly intense live experience.

Their latest album,*Continuum*(2025 on An:Bruch)—a direct-to-tape recording from the legendary Bauer Studios—was included in the shortlist for the German Record Critics’ Award.
