For over three decades, Canadian artist Loreena McKennitt has been exploring the diverse aspects of Celtic music. Seemingly effortlessly, she combines instrumental and vocal perfection and emotion to create a sound costume that enchants the listener. The passionate globetrotter will be touring Europe in spring 2024. From March 7 to April 5, the performer will be coming to Germany and Austria with her The Visit Revisited Anniversary Tour. The tour schedule includes concerts in Hanover, Erfurt, Bremen, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Vienna, Leipzig, Hamburg, Berlin and Düsseldorf.

Loreena McKennitt will be accompanied on this concert tour by four of her long-time companions: Caroline Lavelle (cello), Brian Hughes (guitar), Hugh Marsh (violin) and Dudley Phillips (bass). The focus is on her internationally acclaimed album The Visit, released in 1991. With it, she attracted the attention of the music world, which she has retained for decades.

Her acclaimed performances are composed of music and narratives inspired by Loreena McKennitt' s exotic exploration of Celtic history. Songs, for example, are combined with mystical Irish poems by Yeats and Keats as well as texts by classical writers such as Shakespeare and Tennyson. Intimacy interwoven with personal, inspiring stories characterize Loreena McKennitt's concerts. Her crystal-clear soprano voice and her versatility as an instrumentalist on harp, piano and bandonion remain her trademarks.

It's been four years since her last European tour and McKennitt has received many requests from European fans asking when she would be back? "So much has happened since 2019. It will be wonderful to perform in Europe in the spring and see so many familiar faces that we have missed during these turbulent times," commented Loreena McKennitt.

Loreena McKennitt's eclectic, Celtic blend of pop, folk and world music has sold over 14 million albums worldwide, more than 1.6 million of them in Germany. An astonishing triumph of musical poetry. She has been nominated twice for a Grammy and has won two Canadian Juno Awards and the Billboard International Achievement Award.

As a musical ambassador, she has represented Canada around the world, written film scores and performed at countless major festivals. In 1985, she produced her first album with her savings and founded her own record label. Since then, she has been one of the few truly independent artists to make her own decisions about song selection, production, design and distribution of her material.
