In love at second sight. Enthusiastic at second sight. Sympathetic at second sight. Disappointed at second sight. Many people, moments and emotions we do not perceive properly the first time. In her new program "At second glance" Lucy van Kuhl sings about and comments empathetically on love, age, people who are hardly noticed in our society, people who (unfortunately) are noticed far too much, situations that one has gotten oneself into and from which it is difficult to get out again. And she asks herself the question "When was the last time I did something for the first time?", because it is also worth taking a second, third, sixth look at our life routine. The first look is the intuitive one, the second look can be the special one.

Since October 2018 she has been signed to Konstantin Wecker's label "Sturm & Klang", where her solo CD "Dazwischen" will be released in April 2019, her CD "Alles auf Liebe" (with band) in January 2021 and her current album "Auf den zweiten Blick" (with band) in November 2022.

The studied Germanist and pianist combines her two hobbyhorses word and music in her songs. She observes her environment, her fellow human beings and herself and combines piano cabaret with chansons in a charmingly inimitable way.

Her programs are like yoga for the abdominal muscles: Tension - relaxation and in the end a feeling of happiness sets in.

Lucy van Kuhl reaches her audience through her natural-authentic manner. One finds oneself in her songs, in the little pitfalls of everyday life, which she sings about ironically, but also in her honest quiet chansons.

2019 "ScharfrichterBeil" (jury and audience award).
2021 "Stuttgarter Besen" (audience award)
2022 "Swabian Cabaret Award" and 2nd prize "Paulaner Solo".

In 2017, she received a scholarship for her song lyrics at the "Celler Schule", the only masterclass for song lyricists in Germany, sponsored by the GEMA Foundation.

Additionally, she received the "Hans Bradtke-Förderpreis", donated by Barbara Berrien, daughter of the lyricist Hans Bradtke (among others "Pack die Badehose ein", "Ohne Krimi geht die Mimi nie ins Bett", "Weiße Rosen aus Athen", "Rote Lippen soll man küssen") for her "originality, desire to play, great love of experimentation and her virtuoso lyrics."
