Lyrikkeller präsentiert Poetry Gathering @ Chance e.V.

On September 4, 2026, poetry of all kinds will come together for the first time in the sales room of the MöbelTrödel run by Chance e.V. Spanning genres such as slam poetry, spoken word, chanting, and singer-songwriters, we celebrate the common thread that all participants perform “lyrics” in various forms. The microphone is open—meaning spontaneous participation on stage with your own texts is encouraged. We’re doing away with the competition and judging typical of a poetry slam and instead adopting a “poetry jam” format. In no particular order, the artists will bring their unique styles of poetry to the stage, in front of which the MöbelTrödel’s countless armchairs and sofas will serve as cozy seating for the audience. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the “Plauderbank: Kultur-to-go” offers a space for diverse encounters with artists. Often in one-on-one conversations, the people at the Plauderbank share their own poetry and thoughts. Culture becomes accessible and tangible.

At the same time, Andi Substanz, a resident of the Lyrikkeller, will be spinning records on stage until the event begins. In doing so, he periodically creates thematic climaxes in both subject matter and sound—a catharsis for the mind delivered through the ears. We’re pleased to welcome bestselling author Tobi Katze as a special guest. With his book, *Tomorrow Is, Unfortunately, Another Day—Somehow I’d Expected More from My Depression*, he’s succeeded in offering a very unique perspective on depression.
