Macho Man
A comedy by Moritz Netenjakob—based on the novel of the same name
Daniel is a man with a problem: he was raised by parents from the ’68 generation. Respect for women, equality, listening, showing emotions—he learned all of that. The result? While other guys were making out at parties, Daniel respected the women. And someone had to eat the pasta salads, after all.
When his girlfriend leaves him anyway, Daniel is at a loss. Was he just too nice?
To get over his heartbreak, he flies to Turkey to visit his best friend. There, the unthinkable happens: the gorgeous Aylin—the crush of the entire club—falls in love with him, of all people. Daniel is on cloud nine. But back in Germany, the next challenge awaits: Aylin’s spirited Turkish extended family.
Suddenly, Daniel is faced with questions that no parenting guide could have prepared him for:
Do you help with the dishes after dinner—or is that unmanly?
Is it okay to laugh at Greek jokes?
And how do you actually survive a Turkish disco full of machos when you’re more of a “woman’s man” yourself?
With “Macho Man,” Moritz Netenjakob sets off a rapid-fire barrage of jokes about love, cultures, and the eternal question: What makes a real man?
What makes it special: Only one actor is on stage—and he transforms at breathtaking speed into all the characters in the story: Daniel, Aylin, the macho boyfriend, the Turkish extended family, and many more wonderfully quirky characters.
A fast-paced solo comedy full of role-swaps, punchlines, and moments of recognition—and guaranteed to leave your laugh muscles aching!
