Let us take you on a journey back in time to the dance halls of the Weimar Republic - with the hits of the late 20s and early 30s, as they were once played every evening around a hundred years ago.
You can expect well-known classics such as "Veronika der Lenz ist da" or "Wenn ich Liebe brauch' dann geh ich zur Pauline", as well as foxtrots, tangos and waltzes that have been unjustly forgotten.
Of course, to mark the 125th anniversary of the Wuppertal suspension railroad, the eponymous shimmy fox "Mädel, fahr mit mir Schwebebahn!" by Max Schenkel and Fritz Hiddessen from 1924 is not to be missed.
You will hear:
Immo Federolf - vocals and musical direction
Lucia Gatzweiler - violin
Lewin Losemann and Simon Bremen - alto saxophones
Lilian Eicks - tenor saxophone
Felix Bork and Alex Stahl - trumpets
Lars Schuster - trombone
Paul Walke - banjo
Benedikt Göb - piano
Jan Blikslager - double bass
Niklas Wittig - drums
