There's not much more to explain: Madsen are a brand in their own right.
The band of the namesake brother duo Sascha, Johannes and Sebastian with their childhood friend Niko Maurer has been one of the most successful live & rock acts in the country for almost 20 years. It should not be so easy to find a person interested in rock music who has not seen Madsen live at least once in the last 19 years. You could say: festivals are simply part of the quintessence of the band.
But if you reduce Madsen only to their live entertainment qualities, you are not doing the band justice by far: Especially their upcoming, ninth studio album "Hollywood" underpins the band's status as one of the important local rock bands, also on record. With songs full of empathy, love, power and clear edge, Madsen prove on "Hollywood" that German-language guitar music is anything but trivial. Whether it's political statements or big feelings that sometimes make use of kitsch of the good kind, Madsen songs spark emotions and quickly feel like new favorite songs.
In addition, and this is especially important to mention in this day and age: The family-run Madsen is a zone where everyone should feel comfortable and where disrespectful and inappropriate behavior is not tolerated. Only a few bands have managed not to be spoiled by the often cold-blooded music business and to stay true to their character. Regardless of whether they were given the biggest major budgets or, as of now, found their own label "Goodbye Logik Records" for the new album - Madsen is a family affair, and we all get to join in. You have to do that to this fabulous band from the Wendland first!
"Hollywood", the new and ninth studio album from Madsen, will be released on August 18, 2023 via the band's own label Goodbye Logik Records distributed by The Orchard and Indigo. The album will be released as a limited edition including a bonus 7″ vinyl single with two additional new songs, a songbook, a backstage
Pass with access to the complete concert film from the "15 Years of Madsen" concert at the Hamburg Sporthalle from 2019, as well as other extras. On the headline tour for the new album in the fall, the band will play in selected cities in Germany and Austria. The tour will conclude on December 21, 2023 in Hamburg.
