Majak Door from Melbourne/Naarm (Australia) play an expansive sound that is probably best described using words like dreamy, groovy - both often energetic and occasionally completely laid back. Influences from genres including Surf Rock, Indie Pop/Rock and New Wave as well as Blues and Psychedelic Rock recalling beach-affine sounds with a melancholic twist.

As a band from the far north, the Hamburg surf/psych trio POOLHEAD could hardly be further from the sunny beaches of California. But it is precisely this distance that gives their 60s-inspired sound an independent mix of beach punk and wanderlust blues.
