The Young State Theater's Theater Clubs for everyone ages 8 and up
This is the opening line of John Donne’s poem“No Man is an Island,” which describes the fates of individual people as the fate of all humanity.
In this year’s theater clubs, we’ll explore your ideas about community, cohesion, solidarity, and a sense of togetherness. “COMMUNITY” can mean something different to everyone; each of you can associate different thoughts, stories, and feelings with it. In weekly rehearsals, we’ll improvise and act, dance and make music, collect ideas and write, and in this way develop our own version of“Mapping COMMUNITY,” which will then be staged in the summer of 2027 at the TiF—Theater im Fridericianum.
The Staatstheater’s theater clubs are led by theater educators from JUST+and are offered free of charge. Group theater outings, behind-the-scenes tours, and intensive rehearsal weekends are all part of the theater experience. Mapping COMMUNITYis a PLUS production. Performers from Kassel and the surrounding area become experts on everyday life and question their own—and our—worldviews on the stages of the Staatstheater.
