Between pop and avant-garde, apocalyptic sounds, political messages and cosmic sounds merge into a cross-genre, award-winning masterpiece - revolutionary and timeless.
With two new albums under her belt, Berlin-based artist Mary Ocher returns to Europe for selected concerts following her tours of the UK and North America.
For nearly two decades, Ocher has been pushing the boundaries between pop and avant-garde, with a playful and colorful form and clever content that winks at anyone who recognizes the cultural and historical references. Their new album joins a series of apocalyptic and politically charged concept albums.
The critically acclaimed new album Your Guide To Revolution is a joyous ode to hope and was released just six months after its predecessor, the edgy and experimental Approaching Singularity: Music for The End of Time. It was named "Album of the Week" by The Quietus and is one of the most popular records of the year on Bandcamp. It was also awarded the German Record Critics' Award.
The new recordings include collaborations with post-rock giants Mogwai, composer Roberto Cacciapaglia, pieces by fusion harpist Dorothy Ashby and 12th century Persian poet Omar Khayyam, a tribute to electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire and much more.
They cover a wide musical landscape ranging from post-punk, folk and field recordings to cosmic synthesizer compositions and deconstructed techno.
