MÄRZ & MORITZ & 1 GUEST (EPISODE 49)
The Literary Trio in Action: Ursula März, Rainer Moritz and Sonja Zekri Debate Five New Releases
Four times a year, critic Ursula März and Rainer Moritz, director of the Literaturhaus Hamburg, invite a guest to join them as a literary trio in a lively debate about five new fiction publications of the season.
Open-hearted, smug, jubilant, polemical, unjust, sensitive, and possibly even brilliant - this is how it may and should be in this round, whose participants will not mince words and will champion the cause of literature with verve. It is well known that taste and literature can be argued about - and on this evening it can be experienced live.
The guest of the forty-ninth evening will be the journalist Sonja Zekri. She has worked for the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" since 2001, and headed its feature section with Andrian Kreye from 2015 to 2020. She currently writes for the paper as a cultural correspondent in Berlin. In the newspaper's list of authors, she is described as "fond of animals." Whether that translates into her literary criticism judgments remains to be seen.
The five titles discussed will be announced on the Literaturhaus website about a week before the event.
