With their new, self-titled album “MASSENDEFEKT” (release date: September 11, 2026), the band is consciously focusing on moving forward rather than looking back. The album is not intended as a nostalgic anniversary album or “best-of” compilation, but rather as a clear statement about the here and now. Produced largely in-house, the band presents itself as more direct and unfiltered than ever before. Lyrically, “MASSENDEFEKT” explores themes of solidarity, self-reflection, and a clear stance—unequivocally against Nazis, racism, sexism, and homophobia.

“There wasn’t any grand master plan for the production this time around. We just wanted to make the songs we were really excited about—and that’s exactly why the record feels so multifaceted.”

Visually, too, the album underscores its ambition: The artwork unites the four band members into a single face, symbolizing 25 years of solidarity and shared growth. Michael Czernicki was responsible for mixing and mastering.

As a special highlight, a strictly limited-edition double vinyl will also be released. In addition to the regular album, it features reinterpretations of MASSENDEFEKT songs performed by friend bands and longtime collaborators. The participating artists will be announced gradually.

Alongside the album release, MASSENDEFEKT will hit the road in October with their anniversary tour, “25 LIVE.” The tour brings together songs from all phases of the band’s career and showcases exactly what MASSENDEFEKT has stood for in their live performances for years: raw energy, a distinct edge, and a close connection with the audience. An exclusive opening act will be announced at a later date.

A special highlight will be the grand finale concert on December 12, 2026, at the Stahlwerk in Düsseldorf. Not only will the “25 LIVE” tour come to a close there—the band will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of their double album “Tangodiesel” that evening. Two milestones in the band’s history in one night.
