Matinee: Delphine Joussein CALAMITY

Delphine Joussein is an event. The French flautist and electronic musician, known for her trio NOUT and the Collectif COAX as well as her collaborations with international improvisation musicians such as Mats Gustavsson and his Fire Orchestra or the Ensemble Sauvages Paradis, will present her solo project Calamity. These are sound textures that grow into ornaments. Joussein's tonal shifts and powerful electronic drones become a monumental synthesis of the arts. As a collage of intense energy, poetic beauty, free jazz and noise with elements of early music and extreme metal, Jouissein uses every inch of her flute and single-handedly creates a rawly assembled, trembling, hammering sound architecture with distortions, loops, delays and electronic effects.
