"ON THE RUN"
The debut album by the band "Me & Ms Jacobs" tells the story of singer Lina Jacobs, who, despite her young age, has already had a lot to deal with and does so in the form she was born with: In wonderfully honest, deeply touching songs:
"This album came about on a long and sometimes hard, often painful, but also empowering and loving run through life. Sometimes I don't even know if the songs were created while running away from the world or from myself. I've been on the run since I left home at the age of 14, so first and foremost, I want to thank all the people who have supported me every second on my way." - Lina Jacobs
The band emerged from a young GenZ music collective that sees itself as a counter-current to EDM, is aesthetically very far removed from autotune and electro frills and reflects on the music of past generations. As a kind of therapy and to have the feeling of being connected, many odysseys ultimately resulted in what will be released on the debut album "On the Run" on 24.02.23: Music as colorful as the people who play it, organic recordings reminiscent of the 60s and 70s that convey the desire for real, fragile feelings. The singer's unforgettably raw, mature and emotional voice is carried by a wide variety of influences:
Rock, urban, modern tones, as well as rocksteady/reggae moments, gipsy swing and retro soul, earthy guitars that remind us of our favorite 90s solos, warm horn sections, catchy grooves and spherical keys: All these different nuances, which are brought to life on the album, push the genre to which the band has dedicated itself: Eclectic Soul
