Tosca has been an integral part of the operatic repertoire since its premiere and is one of the five most frequently performed operas in the world. Like a thriller, the story captivates from the very first second. Against the backdrop of Napoleon Bonaparte's invasion of Italy in 1800 and the clashes between republicans and royalists, a fateful love triangle involving sex, religion and theater unfolds.
