A Concert with Niclas Floer (Piano) & Frank Bergmann (Saxophone)

In their concerts, the two musicians, Frank Bergmann and Niclas Floer, explore Johann Sebastian Bach’s most famous works and use them as the starting point for their own compositions. In the process, Floer’s metamorphoses on Bach’s masterpieces continue to evolve with each concert, and new pieces are added to the now well-established program. Floer spans a wide range, from the “Well-Tempered Clavier” to the “Orchestral Suite No. 3” and on to Bach’s “The Sheep May Safely Graze.” All the works he selects undergo changes in form, transformation, and reinterpretation, so that they ultimately shine in a completely new light.

With soprano saxophonist Frank Bergmann, Floer has a kindred soloist at his side who has also studied classical interpretation, deeply reveres Bach, and is at the same time a gifted improviser. This makes every concert a new, unique experience that moves between jazz and classical music, free improvisation and timeless compositions.
