Canadian star MICHAEL KAESHAMMER on tour in Germany with new album in 2024 Hamburg, 13.11.2023. Pop-jazz crossover pianist and singer MICHAEL KAESHAMMER will release his album "Turn It Up" on March 1 via Sony Music/Seven.One Starwatch. In May, the Canadian by choice will once again play concerts in his home country, building on the success of his sold-out tour in spring 2023. Advance sales start today, 13.11.2023 at 1 pm. Singer-songwriter-pianist MICHAEL KAESHAMMER is on the move from Vancouver Island in British Columbia with his naturally powerful live performance and the new album "Turn It Up" to conquer his old homeland after decades of great success in North America. This is Germany, in whose southwest corner he amazed and enthralled audiences as a teenage piano prodigy at the age of 16. In North America, the musician fills large halls and plays with other successful artists such as Ray Charles, Anne Murray and the Neville Brothers. The national US television chain PBS dedicated a TV special to him in 2020, and the Canadian broadcaster Chek now even has its own cooking show "Kaeshammer's Kitchen". His music, naturally influenced by jazz, also combines elements of pop, blues and rock'n'roll - and impresses not least with KAESHAMMER's unique and captivating "crossover style". This can be heard on his major label debut album "Turn It Up", which will be released on March 1, 2024 via Seven.One Starwatch /Sony Music. MICHAEL cares less than ever about style. He is the medium. Music flows through his hands into the piano, through his seductive voice into the mic and inspires his fellow musicians. These are Matt Chamberlain (drums), who has played with John Mayer, Bob Dylan and Elton John, David Piltch, who has supported Solomon Burke, Bonnie Raitt and k.d.lang with his bass, as well as MICHAEL's Toronto horn section. In addition to the title track, highlights include the pop-jazz crossover song "Never Knew What Love Was", the rousing rocker "Sweepin' The Floor", the emotional ballad "One More Time" and a surprisingly fresh version of the Queen classic "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". "When I play," says MICHAEL, "I react to what I hear and then let the music decide where the journey should go." Ultimately, he says, it's the twelve notes on which everything is based. It's impossible to escape the energy that arises with MICHAEL at the center of his music. It comes with a vengeance.
