Möbelaufarbeitung - Grundlagen-Workshop

In the organizer's words:

In this intensive workshop, which has been our classic course for many years, you will learn how to turn older furniture into individual favorite pieces. Step by step, you will gain practical knowledge about wood types, sanding techniques, staining and professional finishes. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or already have some craftsmanship experience - you will receive clear instructions, tried-and-tested methods and lots of creative inspiration.

What you will learn in the workshop:

Sound basic knowledge about wood & surfaces
- Types of wood: hardwood, softwood, veneer and solid wood
- Sanding material & grits: The basics for perfect surfaces
- Hand and machine sanding: try out different variants yourself
- Watering: Why this step is crucial
- Wood stains & staining techniques: Testing different products and trying out color tones, including your own color legend on a practice board
- Finishes: Protecting and refining the surface - different methods
- Retouching: Touching up small blemishes and scratches

Your personal workpiece

After the exercises, you create a practical wooden box in your own style - you select a stain shade and combine it with a suitable finish of your choice. At the end, you will take home both the practice board and your designed workpiece - two visible results of your new skills.
