Molass live beim Bayrischen Jazzweekend in Regensburg

MOLASS are no ordinary band; they are a movement that is redefining the neo soul genre. Their music is a fascinating fusion of old and new, a play between hot and cold that evokes emotions that are hard to put into words. Inspired by bands such as "Hiatus Kaiyote", "Moses Sumney" and "The Alan Parsons Project", their music ventures into unexpected depths and dissolves conventional genre boundaries in the process. Funk, jazz and electronic elements serve as a springboard, but are never formulated to the end, instead merging with the strikingly multi-faceted voice of frontwoman Marissa Möller to create a groovy fairytale. The well-rehearsed combo is completed by keyboardist Jan Lammert, bassist Julian Schwiebert and drummer Lambert Windges, lending MOLASS' sound a unique honesty that appeals to both the ear and the soul. In 2021, the Cologne-based band wins 2nd place at Germany's biggest jazz prize for young talent - Future Sounds at the Leverkusen Jazz Days. In 2022, MOLASS released their second studio album "Piece Of Mass" and shortly afterwards their EP "Heaviness & Hopes". MOLASS, that's energy, electronic soundscapes and, above all, lots of fun!
