From baroque to Broadway
The trombone quartet Münchner Zugverbindung proves with playful ease that the trombone can do far more than sacred rigor. The program builds a bold bridge through the centuries: from the mathematical perfection of Johann Sebastian Bach to the monumental romanticism of Anton Bruckner and the groovy, rhythmic Broadway hits of George Gershwin to contemporary works by Jan Koetsier and Mogens Andresen.
With Elmar Spier, Birgit and Andreas Oblasser and Hannes Mück, four musicians are on stage who have their roots in the major orchestras of the state capital - from the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz to the Munich Radio Orchestra. In addition to technical perfection, it is the audible joy of playing together that characterizes this quartet. Hannes Mück charmingly guides the audience through the program, opening their ears to the details of the compositions and their hearts to the stories behind the notes.
