The tranquil family life of the tradition-conscious couple Claude and Marie Verneuil is thrown into disarray when three of their daughters tie the knot with a Muslim, a Jew and a Chinese man, of all people. Claude and Marie's hopes of a church wedding now rest on their youngest daughter Laure, who has just met a real French Catholic. But when they come face to face with the black Charles, their patience finally snaps.
