Morad describes himself as "a boy from the streets" who is currently looking on with astonished eyes at his rapidly growing international success. In his home country of Spain, he has already been one of the upcoming new stars since 2019 and now has ten Top 40 singles, two of which have even climbed to the top of the national charts. At the same time, his longplayers also climbed high in the charts: the collabo album "Capitulo 1," which he released together with his friend, singer Beny Jr. in 2022, reached No. 6 in Spain, and his current work "Reinsertado" even made it to No. 2 this May. Meanwhile, he received gold and platinum awards not only in his home country, but also in Italy, France and Portugal. Even more impressive are the digital access numbers: Many of his songs garnered between 30 and 115 million plays on Spotify alone, and he currently boasts nearly nine million monthly listeners. As part of his European tour, Morad will come to Germany for four shows between October 30 and November 12, 2023. The youth of Morad, civil name Morad El Khattouti El Hormi, was not an easy one. He grew up in the Catalan town of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat as the son of Moroccan immigrants, his father leaving the family when he was still a baby. This is how his nickname "the boy from the street" came about, because it was there that he spent his childhood and youth. Already at the age of 14, he dreamed of finding a way out of this cycle as a rapper, and tinkered with the simplest means on his cell phone first beats and demos. Through his buddy Beny Jr, by then already a locally respected singer, he gained access to a professional recording studio at the age of 18. From that moment on, Morad did everything he could to succeed with music. Around the release of his first album, "M.D.L.R." (an acronym for "Mec De La Rue", in German "Junge von der Straße"), released in 2019, he achieved his first moderate chart successes; the national breakthrough then happened in December 2021 with two number one hits in quick succession: First, his freestyle session with Bizarrap in the online music format "Bzrp Music Sessions," already responsible for so many international chart successes, reached the top of the Spanish charts; exactly on Christmas Eve 2021, his original composition "Pelele" followed this success. The following April, Morad thanked his buddy Beny Jr. for his early support as an MC with the joint album "Capitulo 1," which not only climbed into the Spanish Top Ten, but also featured five singles, all of which made it into the Spanish charts. With the release of his latest album, "Reinsertado," Morad is now considered the new spearhead of the Spanish drill rap scene - and a new rap star who is succeeding in gaining a foothold throughout Europe, although he consistently raps only in his native language. The future is wide open for the former "boy from the street" - and it's impressive to see with what verve and work ethic he is increasingly filling this opportunity with life. - European Tour relocated from Carlswerk Victoria.
