With their multi-award-winning shadow theater, the Mobilés take their audience on a journey into a Christmas world full of wonders and dreams with their Moving Shadows. Look forward to the new Christmas show that enchants, delights, and moves. The new program has captured the poetry of Christmas and places it under the Christmas tree for the audience—a wonderful gift for young and old alike.

In 2020, the Cologne-based ensemble celebrated its 40th anniversary with a new program, which was extended until 2023 due to the pandemic. Thus, it was clear: The time is ripe for new adventures from the world of shadows. The result is the “Christmas Special.” With their Moving Shadows, the Mobilés have once again staged a dazzling feast for the senses. Loving, suffering, dancing, acrobatic, poetic, and funny, they enchant their audience in black, white, and color. 

Since their founding, the Mobilés have fascinated, moved, and thrilled their audiences. Among the highlights of their numerous awards is their victory at France’s “Super Talent” competition in Paris. At the world’s largest comedy festival, “Juste pour rire” in Montreal, the Moving Shadows impressed not only the live audience and TV viewers but also the jury: They won two of the six total prizes—the “Creativity Award” and the audience award “Winner of Hearts”. A success that is unprecedented in the festival’s 40-year history.

Seven artists, a screen, plus light and music—that’s all it takes for a magical journey. With delicate imagery, the artists, dancers, and mimes captivate their audience. With astonishing precision and breathtaking ease, Moving Shadows create a poetic series of images from flowing bodies. They whirl spiritedly into the light and vanish again into the mysterious depths of the space.

Behind the screen, their bodies merge into landscapes, animals, and buildings; in front of the screen, the shadows enchant the audience. This masterful interplay of forms transports you to a wondrous world and strikes right at the heart.
With their “Christmas Special,” the Mobilés create an extraordinary experience that brings the magic of the Christmas season to life in a unique way.
