Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s fast-paced overture to *Così fan tutte* opens with charm and sparkling energy. Carl Maria von Weber’s Bassoon Concerto, a masterpiece straddling the Classical and Romantic periods, was composed in 1811 for the then-bassoonist of the Munich Court Orchestra. Now Raffaele Giannotti, principal bassoonist of the Munich Philharmonic, brings the instrument to life with melodious warmth and technical brilliance. In his final symphony, Mozart pulls out all the stops of his genius. The artfully crafted final fugue earned it the nickname “Jupiter” and a permanent place in the canon of music history.
