With their brand new album "SOS", the folk buccaneers Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen are setting sail for another musical adventure. The new songs deal with the classic themes of joie de vivre, adventure and the perhaps not entirely historically accurate everyday life of pirates on the Caribbean Sea. The title song, "SOS", does not call for help in a deadly emergency, but rather implores the captain to quickly hand over the wages so that the sailors can finally spend them in the harbor bars. In "Pirates: Megageil!" the band musically explores their motivation to make pirate music of all things and "Zu Fuß" is Pegleg Peggy's song of praise to the advantages of her wooden leg. Once again, the band shows that clever lyrics and the ability not to take themselves and the scene too seriously are among their greatest strengths.

Musically, the Pulveraffen go one better - the sound is rockier and more powerful than on previous albums, without losing sight of their folk roots, which repeatedly play themselves forward through striking accordion instrumentals. Mr. Hurley & The Powder Monkeys prove once again that they are not only on board with their fans, but also master every journey musically.
