MS Wissenschaft in Köln: Die Ausstellung auf dem Frachtschiff

In the organizer's words:

From July 14 to 17, 2026, the exhibition ship MS Wissenschaft will be docked in Cologne. On board, the Science Year 2026 – Medicine of the Future exhibition will focus entirely on our health. Visitors can explore the exhibition to discover what researchers are currently working on so that we can detect diseases even earlier and more precisely in the future and treat them more effectively. Free admission.

At around 30 interactive stations below deck on the former cargo ship, visitors can get hands-on. For example, they can playfully identify and fight cancer cells, implant a new hip joint, virtually immerse themselves in the operating room of the future, measure their own heartbeat with a camera, or detect a broken bone using ultrasound and artificial intelligence. At three stations, visitors can also explore the latest research on diseases such as dementia, diabetes, or endometriosis.

Free highlight tours of the exhibition are offered daily at 5 p.m. and additionally on weekends at 11 a.m.; no registration is required. A free audio guide in German and English, as well as an audio tour for children, are also available.

Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The MS Wissenschaft exhibition is organized by Wissenschaft im Dialog and, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space, will tour 36 cities—both large and small—in Germany, Poland, and Austria between May and September.

Further information about visiting can be found on the MS Wissenschaft website at ms-wissenschaft.de .
