Fancy an evening of musical surprises and classics from the last few centuries? Then you should make a note of the concert dates of the Munich Chamber Orchestra, or MKO for short, in your calendar.
The MKO is world-famous and highly regarded for its great concert programs. Eight times a season, the orchestra presents its concert series in Munich's most beautiful concert hall, the Prinzregententheater. The concert series has a different motto each season, which links the diverse and exciting programs together. With great openness and curiosity, a high degree of stylistic variability and an excellent level of interpretation, the MKO combines music from earlier centuries with contemporary works in an exciting way.

16.1.2025 - 4th subscription concert - oboist Francois Leleux, conductor Enrico Onofri and the MKO - music by Mozart, Luciano Berio and Bohuslav Martinu

Come with us into the shadowy realm of nocturnal silence, into the brooding, vast sound spaces that Luciano Berio's 'Notturno' opens up to us. The piece was inspired by a poem by Holocaust survivor Paul Celan. Oboist François Leleux joins the Munich Chamber Orchestra for Bohuslav Martinů's oboe concerto, from which a dreamy night music also emerges - the Frenchman always performs miracles of character and expressive changes on his instrument. Finally, the MKO and its Associated Conductor Enrico Onofri show once again why their joint Mozart is currently causing such a sensation. 'No orchestra in Munich is currently mastering Mozart in such a contemporary and excitingly new way', wrote the Abendzeitung. This time, the famous 'Haffner Symphony' based on the serenade of the same name, which will be released on a new MKO CD in early 2025, shines in the Prinzregententheater.

26.6.2025 - 8th subscription concert - Singer Christina Landshamer, conductor Enrico Onofri and the MKO - Music by Beethoven, Schubert, Per Norgard and Luigi Boccherini
