Munterfel // Oh Theia

In the organizer's words:

munterfel. is the translation of a feeling into a band. The feeling of freedom away from
of everyday life. A vanishing point from grey reality into a colorful parallel world. munterfel. - a young, gender-balanced band collective based in Leipzig. They make pop and question the genre at the same time by playing new music between acoustic and artificial sounds in their line-up of vocals, drums, synthesizer and double bass. The band experiments and juggles with these two apparent antagonists to develop a timeless sound that still inspires dancing without any academic barriers.

The 4 young musicians from Leipzig got to know each other during their jazz/pop studies. This training naturally leaves its mark on their compositions and provides influences from a variety of genres such as jazz, techno, drum'n'bass and house. They also draw inspiration from previous pop culture to accompany the audience from the familiar to the new and exciting. Pop music as an affirmation of a generally valid community that has had to be questioned again and again in recent years.

In 2021 munterfel. already released 4 singles, in 2022 another 2 singles and started the year 2023 with monthly single releases and a new series of short live versions of their songs, released on Instagram and TikTok. The overwhelmingly positive response to their first tour in summer
2021 emphasized one sentiment in particular: munterfel. is the soundtrack of a reawakened colorful life that dances exuberantly.

OH THEIA

OH THEIA is a Munich band that formed in 2021 around Barska, real name Barbara Buchberger, known from the 11th season of The Voice of Germany. Under the name Barska and the Factory, the band has been active for the last year and a half and can look back on several shows, festivals and a growing community throughout Germany. The new name OH THEIA has been in effect since January 1, 2024.

The band consists of four professional musicians from Munich, each of whom brings an individual touch from different musical backgrounds: whether they come from a classical, jazz or pop background, they share a passion for the creative and soulful development and performance of their music. As soon as they come together, the four women hit it off musically and quickly mold their shared passion into a specific sound: engaging vocal harmonies, spherical string sections and catchy hooks with a hint of electronic influences.
