Muse, femme fatale and composer - Alma Mahler Werfel (Part 2)
To this day, Alma Mahler Werfel has a reputation as a devoted muse, passionate lover and dangerous femme fatale. She undoubtedly took on these roles, sometimes identifying with them.
Unfortunately, it is hardly known today that the young, extremely talented Alma Schindler was actually on the way to embarking on a very promising career as a composer. Her musical oeuvre comprises over 100 compositions - only 17 songs for voice and piano have survived. These works give an idea of what a great composer has been lost to the world.
In two parts, the TexTonTrio tells the story of the composer Alma: what inspired her, which personalities paved her way and how did she break with her compositional work? Quotes, anecdotes and background information frame her songs and the works of important companions.
// About the TexTonTrio
The three passionate musicians have enjoyed a close friendship and intensive musical collaboration since their studies. In their musical recitals, the trio arranges classical art songs for voice, cello and piano, among other things, and presents the audience exclusively through the thematic backgrounds of the program. The combination of text and sound is at the forefront and forms the center of their evening programs. In their special line-up, the three women have the common goal of creating a bridge between instrumental and sung music through the words of pure poetry, anecdotes and quotations, thus intensifying the musical experience on various levels.
