Musik auf der Beueler Rathaustreppe

Every first and third Thursday evening from 6 to 7.30 p.m. until October 16, music groups will perform on the steps of Beuel's town hall, enlivening the town hall forecourt with a variety of styles. Journalist and musician Wolfgang Zimmer is continuing the "Music on the Town Hall Steps" this year in coordination with the City of Bonn.

Bands or singer/songwriters from Beuel and the surrounding area will be performing. There are experienced musicians, but also young groups who take the opportunity to introduce themselves to a larger audience in this way. Spectators who want to stay a little longer are welcome to bring camping chairs or other seating. .

• "2Acoustics" is the name of the two guitarists and singers who will take their audience into the world of melodic and two-part rock singing on Thursday, July 17. With songs by the Beates, Simon & Garfunkel, but also by the Stones and Pink Floyd, they will provide a varied program that is well worth listening to.
• The Möhneplatz continues on Thursday, August 7, with the jazz band "Windy City Six". They come from Bonn-Beuel and have been playing together in different line-ups for many years. The group plays New Orleans jazz and Chicago jazz. They are mainly musicians who have already made a name for themselves in other bands. Incidentally, a garage in Clemensstraße serves as their studio and weekly meeting place.
• Things get rockier again on Thursday, August 21, with the band "First Lane". The band is driven above all by the fun of good rock music. Sophisticated arrangements of rock songs and ballads are part of the band's repertoire. Hard beats, rocking guitars and the melodious voice of front woman Katja are the band's trademark. However, not only self-composed pieces, but also cover songs such as "Scarborough Fair" and "Son of a Preacher Man" round off a successful performance.
• On Thursday, September 4, the Bonn band "MoonDance" will present exciting older rock songs and rock ballads. Singer Silke Uckermann gives each song her very special touch, even if the vocals were originally written for men like Eric Clapton, Stevie Winwood or Paul McCartney. Manfred Huhn (guitar), Wolfgang Zimmer on keyboards, Michael Beyer on bass and Michael Friedrich (drums) provide a solid foundation for the band. A successful mixture of jazzy, rocky and occasionally upbeat pieces of music from the top drawer, hardly anything mainstream.
• Jazz standards and evergreens are the order of the day on Thursday, September 18, with "Lucky D.". Margarete Feit (vocals), Axel Speelmans (piano), Philipp Beilstein (saxophone), Jochen Steinbrecher (guitar), Martina Hehn (bass) and Manfred Hecker (drums) have been bringing "Good Vibes" to the stage for two years. Their music, a colorful mixture of jazz standards, swing, soul, funk, R&B and soulful ballads, creates a good mood; whether it's a relaxed after-work drink, a street party, celebrations of all kinds or music on the town hall steps - "Lucky D." provides the perfect soundtrack.
• The band "Please hold the line" promises blues and more on Thursday, October 2. Petra Glintenkamp (Voc), Heiner Dreesen (Git), Dietmar Dietrich (Dr) and Eckart Lilienthal (Bs) make songs from six decades their own with a lot of experience and musical flair. Blues-informed, groovy and with a lot of fun, the four find their own approach, from old masters and newcomers, from J.J. Cale to Larkin Poe, from Ray Charles to the Black Keys. The expressive lead vocals in front of polyphonic backings, the finely chiseled guitar and the driving rhythm foundation invite you to listen, dance and have fun.
• Last but not least, the Bonn band "Funkyleven" will close the music series in front of Beuel Town Hall on October 16 with funk and soul. For the eleven musicians, the original funk is the core fusion of energy, rhythm and movement. An energetic groove with driving guitar riffs, explosive brass sections and a strong bass line make you sit up and take notice. Drums and percussion meet sparkling keyboards and four-part vocals. Rousing solos from the three horns and the solo guitar set razor-sharp accents. FUNKyleven has a palpable joy in making music together.
