My Japanese Mood
The title of my exhibition describes an emotional state that seized me for the first time when I began to explore Japanese art and the philosophy of 'wabi-sabi'.
It is essentially about finding beauty in imperfection, transience and simplicity. Patina, cracks, scratches and breaks have their own aesthetic.
My mixed-media works are based on this fascinating approach, which should be understood as a personal interpretation against this background.
