WHAT A WONDERFUL TIME!
Carnival singing with the community of heirs

Once a year, the Theater im Bauturm becomes a place for the magical evocation of Cologne's utopia: a community is created from subjects and individuals, united in singing along. Since 2017, the in-house brass band Die Erbengemeinschaft, consisting of tuba player Christian Lang and the singing and trombone-playing Bauturm dramaturge René Michaelsen, has celebrated its annual high mass jecker Communitas on Carnival Friday with well-known popular tunes and rare gems from Cologne's treasure trove of songs. This year, the band once again welcomes a consortium of established regulars to the stage: Johannes Behr on guitar, Florian Hamilton Weißenfeld on piano, Sascha Halbe on trumpet and Kurt Fuhrmann on drums and percussion. In addition, Cologne's smallest brass band will be supported by the voices of the audience, whose traditionally high demand is met by special seating on stage. Drinks can of course be taken into the hall to maintain the atmosphere. Alaaf!
