NACHLEBEN - Versiegelte Geschichte(n) von Arbeit und Migration

In the organizer's words:

Sandra Ratkovic

NACHLEBEN. SEALED HISTORY(IES) OF WORK AND MIGRATION

The exhibition NACHLEBEN - Versiegelte Geschichte(n) von Arbeit und Migration by the Freundeskreis Willy-Brandt-Haus shows the overlapping uses of Stalag VII A - a former German prisoner-of-war camp. The artist Sandra Ratkovic explores the temporal layers of this camp. For the first time, she had the opportunity to document abandoned interiors and found objects that bear witness to a past life. She traces stories of labor migration and explores the lives of residents from countries such as Turkey, Italy and the former Yugoslavia.
