1 night, 2 virtuosos, 2 virtuosos and 1 guitar positivity. That means: 4 solo performances on the strings that mean the world, plus various pieces as a duo and some as a quartet. All this in a room that is built for the sound of the guitar. The Night of the Guitars this year with:

LULO REINHARDT

Founder of the Latin Swing Style, host of the Night of the Guitars. Lulu has inherited the legacy of his great-uncle Django Reinhardt, playing his Latin-flavored rhythms and melodies with legendary virtuosity. Born in Koblenz in 1961, he discovered the Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell in his famous family's record collection, was taught by his father and founded the band I Gitanos with him and his cousin Bavo Dége. Concerts with the stars of the 90s, with TOTO, Marla Glenn, Andreas Vollenweider, plus three CDs in Romnes, the language of the Roma. In 2002, he formed his own band, which became the 'Lulo Reinhardt Latin Swing Project' in 2008. In December 2017, Lulu goes back the way his ancestors from the Sindh region (India/Pakistan) came: In Calcutta, he is recording 'Gypsy meets India' with his friend Debhashish Bhattacharya and his long-time companion Uli Krämer, with this project he is going on an international tour.

STEPHANIE JONES

Australian multi-instrumentalist who specializes in classical guitar. She lives in Germany, has a master's degree and concert diploma from the Franz Liszt University of Music Weimar and teaches at the University of Augsburg. She has won numerous prizes at prestigious competitions, including first prize at the Hannabach Guitar Competition, Uppsala International Guitar Festival Competition and Fine Music Network Young "Virtuoso of the Year" Competition. She has performed worldwide, released four albums, has over 200,000 followers on her social media channels and her YouTube channel is one of the largest in the classical guitar world with over 130,000 subscribers and more than 16.5 million views.

CENK ERDOGAN

Born in Istanbul in 1979, in 1997 he was awarded a prestigious four-year scholarship at the Department of Music Composition at Istanbul Bilgi University. Graduated with honors in 2001, in 2004 he was invited by David "FUZE" Fiuczynski to lead a workshop at Berklee College of Music on the intricacies of fretless guitar and modes in Turkish music. Cenk's latest sonic adventure - 2023 has been released - features the mesmerizing Baritone Fretless Guitar, offering a deeper and quieter musical journey than ever before. This unique instrument was developed by the talented luthier Can Oral over three and a half years of work. Erdoğan believes that every instrument has its own voice, and he wants to share the new voice of his soul with you.

CLAIRE BESSON

Studied in Perpignan and at the Academy of Orléans, then from 2014 the acoustic guitar course "Concert Music / World Music / Jazz" at the Dresden University of Music, since 2022 Claire has also been studying jazz guitar at the Strasbourg Conservatory. In May 2010, she won first prize at the Montigny-le-Bretonneux competition; further first prizes at the Fontenay-sous-Bois competition in 2012 and at the international guitar competition "Nuits Musicales de Cieux" in 2014. Invitations to various international music festivals, including the International Guitar Festival of Paris (Guitares à Suivre) and the "Guitares en Picardie" festival. In her live performances, Claire Besson presents her own arrangements and compositions, seamlessly interwoven between world music and jazz, with guitar and her voice.

NIGHT OF THE GUITARS

... is a kind of Guitarmania. Four musical greats - young and old, from here and there, all with their own style - play solo performances, pieces as a duo, as a trio, as a quartet. In a relaxed but concentrated, attentive atmosphere: the artists appreciate each other, and that can be heard. It is this mood that is transferred to the audience: "guitar positivity" emerges, reinventing itself every evening.
