The lights don't go out immediately. The evenings in the famous Plaza continue while the city tilts outside. January 1933: Change of power. February: Flames in the Reichstag. March: Elections whose figures tell of a deeply divided city. The KPD and SPD hold the majority in Friedrichshain for a long time. And yet something begins to crumble. A new era gropes its way through the streets.

In conversation with historian Dr. Oliver Reschke, we will shed light on the eventful history of red Friedrichshain, a district that remained resistant despite growing repression.
