In the artist's book ALLES in Allem, Wolfgang Schäfer attempts to show the diversity of his work and at the same time the combination of genres that runs through his work. The aim is to make the inner nature of all things and creatures in this world comprehensible and tangible through art. Published by the Museum Goch, with many text contributions, original and documentary photographs, an immersive space of experience is offered on 176 pages. From page to page, the viewer is drawn into Schäfer's artistic world of experience, into the micro and macro cosmos of nature, and into the experience of painting as action. Butoh dance, which Schäfer has been practicing since 1984 and which he learned through his encounters with butoh masters such as Kazuo Ohno since 1986, is given a great deal of space. The synergies of the media that come together in these performances enable a deep existential experience for the viewer. This is what this artist's book aims to make possible.
