Recha reads the news and concludes: We live in a broken world. But her mother, Daja, is only interested in whether she’s cleaned her room. And her father, Nathan, thinks he’s doing good by telling people a moral story about three rings. That’s not enough for Recha—she wants to get involved in politics. But her parents have reservations.

With the production “Nathan the Wise,” author and director Kristo Šagor introduces himself as the new artistic director of the Young Theater. Award-winning playwright Lena Gorelik has written a new version of Lessing’s classic for Heidelberg, in which she brings the story into the present and asks what prejudices concern us today.
