In the organizer's words:
Quietly, almost unobtrusively, néomí has made her mark on the European pop scene in recent years—and that is precisely where her strength lies. The Dutch-Surinamese singer-songwriter, whose real name is Neomi Speelman, is one of those artists whose music doesn’t loudly demand attention, but rather slowly and persistently makes its way into the consciousness of her listeners. Her songs aren’t grand gestures, but rather precise observations that reveal intimate snapshots of heartbreak, self-doubt, and cautious hope.
With her new single “Didn’t I,” released via Nettwerk and marking her first release of 2026, néomí opens another, particularly vulnerable chapter. The song tells of the quiet exhaustion that comes from carrying the burden for two in a failing relationship and being left with questions of guilt in the end. Musically, she remains true to her aesthetic: minimalist arrangements, floating harmonies, and a voice that doesn’t seek to overwhelm but rather to connect. Ethereal folk meets cinematic minimalism, somewhere between Phoebe Bridgers, Laura Marling, and Daughter, without ever becoming a mere reference.
From her early EPs “before” (2022) and “after” (2023), through her acclaimed debut album “somebody’s daughter” (2025), to the introspective EP “Another Year Will Pass” (2025), néomí has established herself as one of the most sensitive voices of her generation. Her lyrics feel like diary entries, her music like a safe space where vulnerability is not a weakness but a form of strength.
It is especially in live performances that this music reveals its unique power. In the fall of 2026, néomí will bring her songs back to the stage: stripped-down, focused, and accessible. As part of this tour, the musician will perform not only in the Netherlands and Belgium but also in Germany, playing in Berlin on October 24. An evening that promises less of a spectacle and more of an encounter—and that is precisely why it lingers in the memory for so long.
